falling in, falling out and staying - Gerald synik (Shumba)

Falling in, falling out and staying

I look at you. Wondering about those first few days before we knew there would ever be anything between us. I wonder how i had seen you then. Was i quick to see the way your eyes light up when you smile. Or the way you laugh, closing your eyes in blissful glee... Maybe you had hidden these small things that make you you then. And i guess discovering them is what they call falling in love. Being shown sides to a person that they reserve for just a few special people. I am kind of nostalgic when i think about it. Because the undiscovered is what keeps us looking to learn more about a person. And maybe when we think we know someone, that's when we stop trying.

Stop being attentive to the slightest change in mood. Attentive to the unsaid. And we fall comfortably into each other. Not so much in love as just getting used to each other. Maybe that's what they call falling out of love. Or losing the spark. But human beings are constantly growing. Changing. Becoming. So there will always be something new to learn. And we will always be discovering new things about those we love, as they discover new things about themselves. Maybe that's what the call staying in love...
